Privacy Policy

BrainBlock ("we", "the app") is built with your privacy as the top priority. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

The short version

BrainBlock stores everything locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. There is no account and no cloud server that holds your information.

What data BrainBlock uses

• List of installed apps: BrainBlock reads the apps installed on your device so you can choose which ones to block. This list never leaves your device.
• App usage & foreground detection: To block a distracting app, BrainBlock needs to detect which app is currently in the foreground. This is processed on-device in real time and is never stored or transmitted.
• Focus sessions & statistics: Your focus history, block attempts, and streaks are stored locally in an on-device database so the app can show you your stats.
• Settings: Your preferences (blocked apps, timer defaults, theme) are stored locally on your device.

Accessibility Service

BrainBlock uses Android's Accessibility Service solely to detect when a blocked app is opened, so it can display the focus overlay. BrainBlock does not read, collect, log, or transmit any screen content, text, passwords, or personal information. The Accessibility Service is used exclusively for app-blocking functionality and for no other purpose.

Permissions we request

• Usage Access / Accessibility: To detect and block distracting apps.
• Display over other apps: To show the focus/blocker screen.
• Run foreground service: To keep your timer running reliably.
• Notifications: To show session reminders and timer status.
• Start on boot (optional): To restore a scheduled session after a restart.

Data sharing

We do not share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any data to begin with. Your information stays on your phone.

Advertising

The free version of BrainBlock may display ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. The Pro version is ad-free. You can review and control ad personalization in your device settings.

In-app purchases

Purchases (BrainBlock Pro) are processed by Google Play. We never see or store your payment details. Please refer to Google Play's privacy terms for payment handling.

Children's privacy

BrainBlock is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the "last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Delete Your Account & Data

BrainBlock has no user accounts and stores no data on any server. All your data (blocked apps, focus history, statistics, settings) lives only on your own device.

How to delete all your data

You have full control. To permanently erase everything BrainBlock has stored, choose either option:

• Inside the app: Open Settings → Delete data. This immediately and permanently deletes all focus history, statistics, and settings from your device.
• Uninstall the app: Uninstalling BrainBlock removes the app and all of its locally stored data from your device completely.

Because we never collect or store your data on a server, there is nothing for us to delete on our side — once you reset or uninstall, your data is gone for good.
